An Afternoon with Explorer Adam Shoalts

"Meet the man the Toronto Star named "Canada's Indiana Jones," professional explorer and adventurer,  Adam Shoalts. Shoalts is an archaeologist, historian, and geographer who in 2017 completed a nearly 4,000 km journey alone across Canada's Arctic. His expeditions have ranged everywhere from the jungles of the Amazon to the frozen tundra of the High Arctic. Named one of the "greatest living explorers" by Canadian Geographic, Shoalts is the author of the #1 national best-seller Alone Against the North, as well as his newly released A History of Canada in 10 Maps, also a national bestseller. Shoalts is a two-time winner of the Louise de Kiriline Lawrence Award for northern literature and currently holds the position of Explorer-in-Residence at the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

At the James L. McIntyre Library on Sunday, November 4th from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.,  Shoalts will share pictures and stories from some of his adventures and will discuss his most recent book, A History of Canada in 10 Maps, which shows us Canadian history in a whole new light. Copies of his books will be available for sale/signing at the library.

This is a FREE ticketed event open to the public.  Tickets are limited and available at both library locations.  For further information please contact Helena Huopalainen at 705-759-5243.Poster for Adam Shoalts library program
