Curbside Pickup Now Available!

In its continuing efforts to serve residents while also taking precautionary measures to help combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus, Sault Ste. Marie Public Library will begin curbside service on Monday May 25, 2020. Pick up will be available outside the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library at 50 East St. and will be by appointment only. To reserve library materials please visit the Library’s catalogue at www.ssmpl.ca and place a hold on the materials you would like or call 705-759-5236 to speak to a staff member during operating hours. Once the holds are available the Library will contact you to set up an appointment.

If you are unwell, we ask that you cancel your appointment and not return your books for a two week period. No fines are being incurred during curbside service.

In addition to the curbside service, the Library continues to offer a number of online resources including eBooks and downloadable audiobooks, research databases, online story times and more. 

If you require a library card you can request one through our online form on the Library’s website. Staff will get back to you as soon as possible. You must be a resident of Sault Ste. Marie or a contracting community in order to receive a card.

Please note that all Library locations remain closed to the public. The following services continue to be suspended until further notice: 
•    Public computers and internet access, with the exception of limited Wi-Fi. 
•    Library programming, clubs and events
•    The Digital Creator Lab (located at the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library)
•    Interlibrary loans (loans from other libraries in Ontario)
•    Visiting Library Service (for homebound residents)
•    The Science North Think Hub (located at the North Branch)
•    Room rentals
