Phishing Emails

Recently the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library has become aware of emails claiming to be from the Library, but are infact phishing emails. Phishing is the act of sending communications that appear legitimate, but are fraudulent. These emails may ask you to provide a password, or push you to click on a link. Emails from the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library will not request a password or ask you to click a link, but rather they will let you know you can either contact the library by phone, email, or that you can go to our online catalogue where you can access your account. Our emails will be for arrived holds, friendly reminders, hold cancellations, automatic renewals, and overdues. To ensure you and your information is safe, never click on links or provide password information to website or in emails you don't know, or feel look off.
