Oral History Review

The North Branch will host a viewing of an Oral History from our Shingwauk & Beyond: Survivor and Intergenerational Memory Collection. This oral history will discuss the life of a Residential School survivor.  Learn about the strength and resilience of the Indigenous people who lived through Residential Schools.  

The oral history will be followed by healing circle discussion which will be facilitated by Elizabeth Edgar-Webkamigad (NaanookshkaaNs Kinoomaagewin), who is a community member of Baawaating area, from Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island and is the Director of Health and Human Services for Batchewana First Nation.  Attendees can discuss the oral history or their personal experiences.   

Learn about this important part of not only Canadian but Local History from the first-hand accounts of the people who lived through it.
