It’s the perfect time to pick up a new hobby or craft, and the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library, 50 East Street, has you covered with plenty of upcoming programs!
Beaded Strawberry Brooch Crafternoon – June 11 and 25, 2026, 1:30-4:00 p.m.
June also marks National Indigenous History Month. In celebration, the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library, 50 East Street, will be conducting a special two-part Crafternoon workshop, taught by Kaitlyn Neveu. Come and learn the craft of beading and make a beautiful strawberry brooch. Be sure to bring your eyeglasses if required as this is detailed work. Session one will take place on Thursday, June 11th, 2026. The continuation will be on Thursday, June 25th. Both classes will run from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Because this is a two-part workshop, please ensure you can attend both dates before registering. Lights Up Movie Screening – June 13, 2026, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
June 13th, 2026, is International Knit in Public Day. If you’re a knitting enthusiast, why not join the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library for a Lights Up Movie Screening? Bring your crafting and enjoy some mess-free snacks while you watch two documentaries about the art and community of knitting: My Knitting Circle and The Story of the Coast Salish Knitters. This screening takes place at the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library, 50 East Street, on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Doors open at 1:00 p.m. This is a free event, and registration is required.
