The library has a growing collection of fiction and non-fiction titles written by authors from Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma Region. Information For Authors
The library welcomes submissions from local authors who wish to have their book added to the library's collection.
All items that are submitted to the library for inclusion must meet the criteria outlined in our Collection Development Policy.
The following information must be provided for any items being submitted for consideration.
- Book title
- Author's name
- ISBN
- Price
- Number of pages
- Type of binding
- Date of Publication
- Publisher
- Intended audience
- Ordering information
- A brief summary of the book's contents
- Author's credentials (mandatory for non-fiction)
- Why this book would be of interest to Sault Ste. Marie Public Library patrons
- Reviews from standard review journals if available.

We do not accept review copies of books and unsolicited items will not be returned. If you wish to donate a copy of your book please note that it is subject to the same criteria outlined in our Collection Development Policy.
The library does not pay in advance for material. If you wish to sell your book to the library, we must receive an invoice and you will have to wait for payment, or the book will have to be purchased through a wholesaler.
Note: Local authors are authors who are from the Algoma district.
