The Library has gathered a list of resources to help members of our LGBTQ2S+ youth community easily navigate and find information in regards to advocacy, health, support services, and open-access databases. We strive to assist our youth in finding valuable and accurate information. The Library continues to diversify its collections by including more LGBTQ2S+ books allowing you to read for fun or conduct research. The Library supports your journey. We will do our best to help you find the resources you need.

Advocacy

Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity
To empower gender and sexually diverse communities through a variety of campaigns, programs, research and scholarship programs.  The Centre also provides numerous workshops, educational resources, training, and links to a variety of online resources.

Egale Canada
Egale Canada is an advocacy group that seeks to improve the lives of 2SLGBTQI people in Canada and to enhance the global response to 2SLGBTQI issues. 
Includes access to workshops for schools, corporate, government, service providers and beyond. 

The Klub Community Wellness Centre
The KLUB is a community wellness centre and 2SLGBTQ+ safe(r) space on Facebook, which facilitates and promotes wellness, culture, inclusivity, equity, and community building. 

PFLAG
Pflag Canada is a national charitable organization, founded by parents who wished to help themselves and their family members understand and accept their LGBTQ2S children. Find the nearest Pflag chapter, as well as even more links to online resources.

The PRIDE Project
The PRIDE Project is an opportunity for all of us to work together to create braver spaces, places for queer and trans people. Find information on local and virtual events as well as links for resources in Algoma including crisis, housing, transsexual education and queer sexual education.

Sault College QSA
The Sault College QSA is a peer support Facebook group open to all community members in Sault Ste. Marie and the surrounding area. It works to help queer and trans people by creating a safe and supportive environment to get to know others in the community and to raise awareness surrounding LGBTQ+ issues affecting those in the area and to connect people with community resources and supports available to them. 

Sault Pride
Sault Pride is a community organization with a mission to bring people together from Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District to celebrate the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community. The annual Sault Pridefest has become a celebration of unity and diversity, inclusion and vibrant creativity. HIV & AIDS Resource Program (HARP)
HARP is the leading source for HIV/AIDS information and confidential support in the Algoma District. HARP offers an understanding, supportive environment with a wide range of prevention information and access to harm reduction materials along with information about testing, treatment, and LGBTQ2S+ support.

Algoma Family Services Youth Support Group for LGBTQ2S+
Algoma Family Services is a provider of specialized services for children, youth, adults and families in the Algoma District.

LGBT YouthLine
LGBT YouthLine is a Queer, Trans, Two-Spirit youth-led organization that affirms and supports the experiences of youth (29 and under) across Ontario. They provide anonymous peer support and referrals, training youth to provide support to other youth; and p
rovide resources so youth can make informed decisions.

Rainbow Klub
The Klub is a Community Wellness Centre that focuses on creating safe(r), anti-oppressive spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ and other groups in the community.

Transgender Teen Survival Guide
The blog was created for people of all ages who have questions concerning their gender identity and tries to provide information so individuals can make their own decisions.  If you have questions hopefully this site can give you some answers.

Trans Lifeline
Trans Lifeline provides trans peer support to trans people in crisis. Trans Lifeline connects trans people to the community support and resources they need to survive and thrive.

The Gender book is a fun, colourful, community-based resource, which illustrates the beautiful diversity of gender - a gender 101 for anyone and everyone.

LGBTQ Ta Center
A searchable LGBTQ resource database that allows you to search for information and literature on a variety of LGBTQ topics.

Rainbow Camp
Rainbow Camp is a camp for young people who are 2 spirited, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer questioning (2SLGBTQ+) and allied youth, their siblings and children in Queer families. Welcome Friends Association’s Rainbow Camp is committed to developing a camp community, which honours creativity, individual choice, and social justice while having fun!  Welcome Friends Association also provides the Rainbow Online Connection is an online program for you and parents as well as counselling services.
