To do this the Library will make reasonable efforts to ensure the policies, procedures, and practices address integration, independence, dignity, and equal opportunity.

Assistive Technologies
Windows Accessibility Features – Built-in accessibility features empower every person to explore and do the things they love. Available on all public computers. 
Optelec ClearView+ Magnifier – Desktop video magnifier located at the Centennial library. 
Daisy Reader – A special CD player that plays DAISY Book formatted discs.

Accessible Collections
The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library offers a wide range of materials in various formats for patrons that have visual impairments, learning disabilities, or physical disabilities.       
 
eAudiobooks & Books on CD
The library offers full length Books on CD, as well as eAudiobooks that are available through the library’s Overdrive service.

Daisy Books
DAISY books are special CDs that are formatted for full navigation on a single CD. They can be used with a DAISY Reader, or any MP3 compatible disc player.

Closed-captioned DVDs and Blu-Rays
Closed captioned DVDs and Blu-Rays have a feature that when turned on, allows individuals that are hearing impaired to read the dialogue in subtitles on the screen.

Large Print Books
Large print books have are printed with a larger type that is usually bolded and stands out more. Large print books are available at all library locations in both fiction and non-fiction.
